WE MAKE THE PROCESS OF DIVORCE EASIER FOR MANHATTAN COMMUTERS

I recognize that commuting to New York takes an enormous amount of precious time, thereby making it really hard for the commuting divorce client to have a meaningful professional relationship with his divorce lawyer.

For over 3 decades, I've represented people who commute to Manhattan.

I did it myself...for 90 days... in late 1985, and early 1986, back at the very beginning of my career.

I hated every second of it.

At 5:49 pm every damn day, my train from Manhattan pulled into the South Orange train station.

When the space shuttle Challenger blew-up on January 28, 1986, I realized that life is just too short. I hated the commute and immediately left my position in Manhattan and accepted a judicial clerkship with a NJ Family Court Judge.

It's been 38 wonderful years since I made the easy decision to stop the madness of commuting, yet still every time I see the time "5:49" on a clock, it brings back memories and reminds me of why my staff and I try so hard to make it easier for our commuter clients.

My commuter clients love my law office because we recognize that their available time is very limited, and so we try to accommodate their unique circumstances.

Years before Covid, we were pioneers in the use of Zoom for easy first-rate video conferencing with our clients. This avoids the need for most (if not all) in-person meetings, thereby allowing the client to avoid further overcomplicating his already overcomplicated schedule.

Recognizing the time-constraints that commuters face, we try to make ourselves available whenever necessary for after-hours phone calls.

By doing everything possible to accommodate the "special needs" of our clients who work in Manhattan, we have effectively made the lawyer-client experience almost exactly the same as if our offices were right down the hall from our commuter client.

Oh...did you hear about Robert?

He commutes to work in Manhattan too.

You won't believe what his narcissistic wife, Nicole, did one day when he was busting his chops in Manhattan at work...
